Time to set up the page for my handmade birthday gift exchange if it's gonna happen this year, so I wanted to suss out interest.
For folks who haven't been involved before, I use Elfster to assign exchange partners. It's not a chain letter type thing, it's more like a secret Santa, where you get assigned a person to give a gift to, and someone else gets you. So you send 1 gift and receive one gift.
For this one, the gifts need to be handmade. You can add non-handmade things like books, notebooks, candy, tea, etc, but the main part of the gift needs to be handmade. You aren't crafty, that's fine, you can buy from someone who does handmade goods. But you need to have it sent to yourself so you can add a card or wrapping or some personal touch, instead of just having it sent straight from the maker to the recipient.
Anyway, if that sounds like something you'd be interested in, let me know and I'll set it up.

It took a little wiggling around and changing out rings/positions/etc, but it was well worth it.

I almost made up the rest of my fidget jars, because Amazon said my stuff wasn't gonna come til the day before Pride at the earliest. Glad I didn't though, because they arrived today!
Glow in the dark stars and little resin charms for the top. Unfortunately, I have limited jars, because they've been out of stock and I haven't found a replacement. But I'll make what I can, and hopefully find something else soon.

I got a couple sets of these little guys, because they're just the derpiest little unicorns and they made me smile when I was having a bad day.
But now I'm questioning if anyone else will buy them, because it doesn't seem like whimsy and chainmail go together in the eyes of a lot of consumers (I think they're great together...).
I have some necklaces with little t-rexes and some with balloon dogs that I've taken to a few events and everyone comments on the charms (mostly nice, but occasionally snide/sarcastic), but I just finally sold one of the t-rexes.
I'm definitely keeping this pair for myself (they're supposed to be friendship necklaces, but they look like they're friends themselves and wouldn't want to be split up), but I'm debating if I should try to return the other set. I'm still trying to find the balance between the things I want to make and the things that will sell.

I may need to get more of these containers. I grabbed one at Dollar Tree so I could take chainmail stuff to the ren fair...

I may need to get more of these containers. I grabbed one at Dollar Tree so I could take chainmail stuff to the ren faire instead of leaving the rings in their ziplocs, and I kinda love it. Perfect size to pop in my bag, and it holds a lot of rings.
So far, I'm also happy with the clasp that holds the box shut. The round boxes don't seal, which is totally fine, but that means the box needs to close fully so they don't spill.
Anyway...not an ad or anything, just showing some of the stuff I use. I also love a little box...

These little guys are very satisfying, although I did jump in and tell someone they may not be the right choice when she was talking about chewing on fidget necklaces.
Please don't chew on glass and stainless steel...
One of the early things I made for myself was a simple byzantine necklace without a bead, and I found myself fidgeting with it constantly, so I decided to make that their purpose. They're also cute necklaces, regardless of if you like to fidget.

I've had a lot of questions about how durable these are. Mostly from parents who nearly had a heart attack when they saw their kids violently shaking them (I gave permission/encouraged them to give a good shake, although flipping then upside down and swirling gently works as well).
I've had this one in my pocket for about a week. I've slept with it in my pocket, and there's always a bunch of other stuff in there too. And it still looks good as new.
I seal them with a line of e6000 glue the whole way around the lid. I haven't actually tried to see if it's possible to wrench them open, but they shouldn't open with normal use. I did see a 10-12yo kid trying to open one and he gave up after several attempts.
Also, , I found the perfect cat charms to put on the top, thanks to your suggestion. But shipping is gonna be slow, so they probably won't arrive before Pride 😭

If you're interested, she's $75, shipped free within the domestic US.
And yes, both sides spiral, but the wind kept blowing everything off the stands and I didn't notice she'd been twisted.
Handmade stainless steel chain. Unsure of the stone, as it was a secondhand find. May be glass, may be stone. Definitely not plastic.
I will only have 1 of these available, unless I magically stumble upon another of the same necklace I took apart to make her.
