Half Dead Oak Jewelry is the creation of South Texas and Dwayne McGee. Since 1992 Dwayne has been using the rustic characteristics and uniqueness of South Texas cultures, beliefs, events and land to create distinctively bold and defined jewelry of sterling silver, other metals, and semi-precious stones. Dwayne has taught himself the technical and design sides of jewelry creation in an effort to is

olate his individuality and style. Much of Dwayne’s work is influenced by abstractly based expressionism features with shades of surrealism found in modern and primal arts. These arroyos of style feed the river of art, that stimulates Dwayne’s artistic talents, for the fabrication of creation. Please go see my Jewelry making and other videos on youtube, you can search for 1axvn channel or Half Dead Oak Jeweley. All of the major and most of the minor components are fabricated, here in our shop, not purchased at Wal-mart or Hobby Lobby and strung together. Our style is best described as a South Texas Style. We have a large variety of beautiful pieces to choose from. Our works has a fresh look and approach to artisan jewelry making as we mix metals, woods, stones and finishes of different colors to create unique one of kind art pieces that will be treasured by you for many years to come. Our Work has a general appeal to the young and old alike. You will marvel at the detail of the work. Our creations tell the stories of south Texas you grew up with and a few new ones to. We utilize colors and shapes to express our passion for all things Texas.

Communicating an abstract moral concept like righteousness or goodness through purely visual, formal elements—specifically geometry, symmetry, and asymmetry, I think requires tapping into a human's deep-seated psychological associations with balance, order, and proportion. While geometry has no intrinsic moral agency, it functions for me as a powerful visual metaphor. I believe it can be articulated through these formal assertions and properties.

Why my work looks the way it does.

As a metal artisan and worker I believe in recursive transformation, where an object is deconstructed to discover its inner structure and reborn with new meaning.

These Hair Slides with a Retaining Bar are Made from recycled sheet metal, wire and discarded bits and pieces of electrical boxes and washers found in parking lots ln the South Texas/Santa Fe hybrid style.

Consider the "afterlife" of living and inanimate objects, how we repurpose, recycle, or discard them, it matters because it directly dictates global resource depletion, landfill capacity, carbon emissions and economic frugalness. Thoughtful end-of-life management shifts our economy from a linear "take-make-waste" model to a sustainable, restorative circular economy and way of life.

Oh and I like what I'm doing that too is a benefit.

I have come to view this mission as a profound act of alchemy. Transforming discarded materials into meaningful art gives new life to the overlooked, subverting modern consumerism and reframing the weight of history into a catalyst for a more sustainable, vibrant tomorrow.

Oh and I like what I'm doing that too is a benefit.

Some more raw recycled upcycle sheet metal.

These are ponytail band covers. A little bigger than the others. They are extraordinarily lite and look surprisingly good. They are designed to resemble Santa Fe Tin Work and in the South Texas Style of Art hybrid.
