Her jewelry designs are hand-fabricated, by marrying metals of 14k and 18k gold with fine and sterling silver, embellishing metal surfaces by etching plates and roller printing, as well as using precious and semi-precious stones. Judith resides with her family in Lafayette, California where her studio is located.

Gemstone Tuesday! May's birthstone is the green emerald. It's the perfect gemstone for the middle of Spring. It is also the gemstone for the 20th and 35th wedding anniversaries. Its vibrant green color reminds us of the new growth of Spring. Emeralds are 7.5 to 8 on the MOHS hardness scale...so more susceptible to scratches than diamonds and sapphires. Though other cuts are available the "emerald cut" is the most common cut for an emerald which is a rectangular step cut. We set this 1.46ct emerald cut emerald (7.6mm x 6.1mm) in a tapered cathedral bezel setting in mokume of 18K yellow gold, 14K palladium white gold and sterling silver.
