Tennessee’s 3rd annual Blackberry Festival gets underway in the town of Powell, TN near Knoxville, always making for one of the best small-town events of the early summer in the Volunteer State! Set for Saturday, June 27th, this easygoing summer festival will take place at Powell Presbyterian Church on West Emory Road from 9 AM to 2 PM, with the day getting started even earlier as the 5K begins at 8 AM from Powell Middle School. The race route winds through the Broadacres neighborhood, takes runners over a few rolling hills, and finishes near the entrance to Broadacres, right across from the church where the festival fun will be waiting.
Once the festival is in full swing, visitors can enjoy food trucks, local vendors, fresh lemonade, sweet blackberry treats, handmade crafts, artwork, games, and plenty of small-town shopping in one relaxed spot. Live music is planned from noon until 2 PM, giving the afternoon that laid-back East Tennessee feel, while the Kid Zone adds extra fun for families with inflatables, games, and even a firetruck for kids to check out up close. Powell Presbyterian Church has been part of the Powell community since 1969, and proceeds from the race help support the church’s ministries, making the day feel even more connected to the local community. Parking will be available at Powell Middle and Powell High, with shuttle service running to and from the festival, making it easier to come out, walk around, grab a treat, browse the vendors, and enjoy one of the Knoxville area’s sweetest early-summer events.
