And when life is uncertain, we go to sit with the Cedars and the Redwoods.

To pray with the tree teachers, make offerings of to***co smoke and before harvesting bark and branch for a sacred fire.

To adorn thousands of marigold petals around flame, and feed the ancestors with spoken memories and future dreams.

When I need Kali to burn it all away, first I give a piece of my heart for Fire to receive and transmute.

So much WOW still percolating from Saturday’s event. It’s hard to condense the everything into a single slideshow… I wish I could post the hugs, compliments, collaborations, and dope bass b***y drops, and alas, I am simply not the content kine bae 😜 Instead, here’s a lil video of our altar, adorned with our favorite sacred tools and allies. Because, let’s be real, one of my main roles in this lifetime is to honor the animate forces, and decorating a place of worship is my way of encouraging others to join me.

The antlers have a special place in the center, as the deer who sacrificed them died a year ago on our land right before Microforest. So, If you’ve prepped for a show or festival, you know there is a pretty strict timeline for soundcheck, food and beverage, hospitality, etc, and “moving dead animal” isn’t really a fun side quest moment for a team of people you live with to be pulled from all their other jobs to do. It was definitely a test from the natural world— can we drop all the busy work, honor this deer spirit, problem solve how to move an enormous decomposing being out of the event site, and give it a proper burial?

I made my prayers with the body and sawed off the antlers so that he would always be honored at Microforest on the altar. Occasionally we will use the antlers for a sacred fire circle or to protect our home space; otherwise, they have a permanent place on the altar.

This lil permaculture project keeps growing us in stages, as we pursue building and planting and growing with the environment.

Mahalo to this community of people that can come together and do hard things, big things, smelly, fun, awesome, tiring, enormous things. Our team is morphing and evolving.

And props to for our biggest dance floor attendance to date!! What an honor to celebrate our 5 year anniversary with you.

Our Understory series featuring is going to be rich with yoga, farm tours, sacred prayer, and incredible DJs. We have the choicest hands pouring tea, serving up organic grindz, and vending goods. The pole dancing sorority and fire spinning brigade is the finest on island (and beyond) 🏵️

Hay! I’m Sal

Most of you reading this will recognize that squinty face up there, smiling into the Colorado sun. For those who don’t know me yet, WELCOME to the Improbable Reality! I have been teaching yoga while studying crystals and meditation the past few years, and something grew inside of me. Our mountain town of Steamboat Springs was a dreamland, but like the Little Mermaid, my heart kept longing for more. This little voice, tugging at my conscious to explore and evolve has inspired me to take my life on the road. I travel with my partner, Kyle, and our Australian Shepherd, Winnie, in our Ford Transit converted home, which we affectionately call the Wu Tang Van. Ever shifting, growing, changing and moving, our business and relationship with new communities is expanding at rapid speed. To be honest, I never believed I was a “jeweler,” nor did I expect to be selling crystal mala necklaces online, but the universe has way cooler plans than what I could conceive. Thanks, spirit! We spend our time connecting with studios, schools, festivals and retreat centers in the interest of sharing our Conscious Breathwork sessions, movement classes and energy work.
