Maker's Market @ Roberson Museum was such a fun event! Thank You for having Primitive Nature! The organizers went above & beyond.

It was so nice seeing old friends from Otsiningo Farmer's Market days. That included a lady wearing a Rainbow Moonstone necklace that I made many moons ago. There's nothing better than seeing somebody wearing one of my creations out in the wild. .🥰

We LOVE the Roberson Museum(& mansion), where we tied the knot, & our kids used to see Mr. & Mrs. Claus during Home for the Holidays.
A true Binghamton Gem. 🌹

Good morning, friends! It was nice waking up to the sun today. Looks like it's going to be a beautiful one. :)

Next week we'll be at the Roberson Museum (Binghamton)
Maker's Market May 9, Noon – 4
The show is inside (look for us there) & out. In case of rain, the entire event will be indoors.
Tickets are $5 & include admission to the museum & mansion. It's a very special place for us because we got married there.

Hello Friends! Happy Saturday! Happy Spring! :)
Today & tomorrow is the NYST Geology Club's 56th Annual Gem Mineral & Fossil Show!

It's a fun & educational event, one for the whole family. They have a scavenger hunt & prizes for kids as well as demonstrations, even lunch compliments of the Senior Ctr. :)

We've met some really great folks at this event over the years. Our kids have done the scavenger hunts. We'll miss our old & dear friend Ken who was a fixture there, some years we went just to see him.

This is one of the tiniest pendants I've ever wrapped. I loved the challenge & when it was finished said to myself, "how did you make that!?". It's hard on my hands & eyes to wrap tiny, my tools barely fit.
The unusual shapes of sea glass & other natural gems often fit together like a puzzle.🧡💚Double wraps are one of my favorite things to make!

Last Friday I had the opportunity to learn a new skill, while having fun. :)
I attended a private class: Sip & Create a Spoon Ring with Artist & Teacher, Mr. Keith Rosko from CF, along with his lovely assistant & wife Lynne, & their daughter Ellie who hosted. 🥰

My daughters & I, along with some of their friends had lessons on the process of creating rings & other things with recycled silverware. This included what to look for when choosing the right utensil, how to size your ring, what tools are needed, & the steps, with troubleshooting any snags along the way. :)

Everything we did was manual, with zero machinery. It's brilliant that Keith teaches his students to use their hands & simple tools to bend & finish metal. It's not easy, you need to put some muscle into it, maybe even your entire body, (maybe Lynne's also! 😂) but you can do this, anywhere without electricity or expensive machinery.

Spoon rings date back to 17th century England. I wore my mom's old rings as a teen. & don't think they've ever gone out of style, much like the cameo. :)
This is a really wonderful way to create something while recycling!
Not to mention the fun thrifting part of it once you know what to look for. :)

Any student who has Mr. Rosko for an art teacher is a lucky kid. He does so many cool projects & is passionate about spreading the joy of art & inspiring future adults.
