Hello September!

September brings Sapphires as it's birthstone. For thousands of years, people have connected the blue sapphire with the heavens, royal power, and divine protection. Ancient Persians believed the Earth rested on a giant glowing sapphire that made the sky blue, while early Christians and medieval clergy wore the gem to symbolize heaven, purity, and truth. Folklore claimed a sapphire would lose its shine or change color if worn by someone unfaithful or impure. This could explain why sapphires are so often used in engagement rings.
