YanaYa Art Jewelry. Handcrafted in Seattle

YanaYa Art Jewelry. Handcrafted in Seattle Jewelry designer from Seattle,
šŸ”ļøPNW inspired jewelry without soldering. I'm Yana. Art has always been my passion.

I have a deep appreciation for paintings, music, and, of course, jewelry. Creating something that can be considered art brings me immense joy. In my spare time, I sing and draw, but jewelry-making is my passion. I began making jewelry on a vacation in Hawaii. It was there that I crafted my first piece – a pearl and bead bracelet inspired by the breathtaking beauty of the ocean and nature surroundi

ng me. Freshwater pearls have been my go-to jewelry material ever since. I'm fortunate to live with my loving family, and I'm incredibly grateful to my husband and mother for their continued support and encouragement in my jewelry-making endeavors. It's because of their supportive attitude that I could flourish in my favorite artistic pursuit. I draw inspiration from modern and abstract art. Visionaries such as Kandinsky, Mondrian, and Rothko fuel my imagination and help me develop unique jewelry ideas. Another constant source of inspiration for me is music. I make minimalistic jewelry from gold-filled wire and natural stones. As I do not solder jewelry, I am limited to finding some of the most interesting and unusual shapes for my products. Restricting materials and techniques to the essentials allows me to focus on exploring the natural textures and shapes of the stones. Rather than forcing a design onto my work, I simplify and let the stone’s inherent beauty guide the design process. The results are often unexpected and beautiful

When crafting custom jewelry, I take the time to understand my clients to design pieces that truly reflect their unique personality. My choice of stones is based on their values and birthdate. I like the idea of creating a capsule wardrobe with matching items to create a stylish and unique look by wearing a different combination every day. Finding the right shape is another favorite aspect of my work. In my jewelry, I like to use circles, zigzags, and lines to create a mood.

Meet ā€œUniverseā€
The newest addition to the Line & Flow collection.

When creating this piece, I wanted to capture the essence of soft minimalism and feminine energy in a single, continuous line. Hand-sculpted from 14k gold-filled wire, these spiral threaders gently orbit around two contrasting natural pearls, creating a piece that feels both weightless and deeply grounded.
It’s an organic shape that moves with you, catching the light beautifully from every angle. Whether you’re pairing them with a cozy sweater for a quiet morning or wearing them as a modern, elegant statement, they effortlessly elevate your everyday style.

✨ The Details:
• Crafted with premium, tarnish-resistant 14k gold-filled wire
• Features beautiful, contrasting natural pearls
• Designed with 14k gold-filled making them hypoallergenic and safe for sensitive ears

New workshop presentation. Honestly… it takes me hours.

To come up with a design that works well for teaching.
To sort all the necessary materials.
To organize the beads.
To make a few examples.
To arrange everything beautifully.
To search for and buy additional tools and supplies…

So it’s not only the hour or two while the workshop is actually happening šŸ™‚

Do you ever feel ā€œunder the seasonā€? I’ve noticed that in the wintertime I tend to be more subtle, collected, and inward-focused. I naturally choose earthy, calm colors and minimalist accessories.

But in the summer, everything turns outward. I’m drawn to brighter colors, layers, and textures—more playful looks, bold expressions, and stronger contrasts. I feel braver mixing things and creating unexpected combinations.

Beads are what take me there āš˜ļø

I’m taking my new ring from the Line & Flow collection out for a walk. I infused it with the special atmosphere and energy of a beautiful, cozy evening. Now I love it even more, because it’s no longer just rose gold and pearls — it carries an atmosphere, emotions, and memories within it.

Let me share some very intimate and vulnerable thoughts about my jewelry choices and creative path.

From time to time, I feel embarrassed about the simplicity of my designs. And yes — they do look simple. I don’t use soldering or welding techniques, and I don’t work with complex equipment. In the past, I tried to learn those skills and even took classes, but it’s not something that works for me right now.

At this moment in my life, I’ve made a conscious choice — and I feel that this choice is the best one for me. Maybe later, when I feel more space and breathing room in my life, I’ll return to it. But for now, I already have a lot.

Those who know me personally understand this. My priorities are my kids, my family, my business, markets, workshops, my home (I truly love being at home, even though I often feel I don’t have enough of it), my relationships, and my work. I try to add sports and other activities consistently, and from time to time I attempt to bring music back into my life.

Right now, I’m constantly searching for ways to create stylish, timeless designs. It’s a big complex — not only the jewelry itself, but also displays, presentation, and positioning on social media.

Through all these years of working, I feel that I’ve found my own unique and recognizable style. Limitations have opened different paths for me — new ways of creating. Yes, it has taken years.

Sometimes we need to find balance between everything that matters. I tend toward perfectionism — that’s part of my personality — but life is teaching me that balance is more important and healthier.

At this point, I feel that I am exactly where I need to be. I have so much to create with what I already have. And at the same time, it feels like I’m just at the beginning of my journey.

I know people don’t usually read the captions under posts… but if you’ve read this far, say hi in the comments — so I know you’re truly here with me šŸ¤

When I came back from my trip to Italy, people asked me questions like: ā€œWhat did you buy for yourself?ā€ and ā€œDid you get any jewelry there?ā€ Ummm… no. I brought souvenirs for friends and family, but nothing for myself. I only realized that when those questions came up.

So, what did I bring for myself? Tiny pieces of sea-polished glass, bits of ceramic, and this one random earring my son found under the couch in Vietri sul Mare. It was a cute but ordinary earring—nothing special—until I got home and transformed it into a pendant. Now it’s a one-of-a-kind, special souvenir just for me. 😊
