These bold yet delicate moss agate earrings are the perfect complement to our current in-between season weather. Hello, 82° in mid-September!?

They feature some mossy green goodness with pops of red, similar to the little pockets of changing foliage on green trees that I’ve been seeing on my walks.

Some of you lovelies have been asking what I’ve been working on and why there haven’t been any new collection releases… and the answer is, it seems that I inadvertently took a bit of a summer hiatus!

The last time I posted to this here grid was back in March. No wonder y’all have reached out to check on me! I’m not a big fan of excuses, but I do have a few: painful carpal tunnel issues, the fresh hell that is menopause, lots of sweet trips to my Michigan homeland, etc.

But the truth is, jewelry just didn’t feel terribly important after the devastating loss of a very close, very dear friend who took her own life earlier in the spring. Our sweet Julie, our rainbow in human form, our kind, loyal, loving friend. This particular type of grief is so very heart-wrenching, so hard to process. My heart aches just typing her name.

All this to say, I needed some time. Time to grieve. Time to comfort my friends. Time to feel the sunshine on my shoulders and float in the lakes, two things she loved oh-so-much. This lil selfie is my tribute to her; to let her know I love and miss her. A reminder to myself to live fully, presently. I know she would giggle at this pic and call me by the loving but hilarious nickname she bestowed upon me so many years ago!

Thanks for hanging in there with me. Hug your friends and tell them you love them!

A little Friday evening stroll through the forest. A bit of solitude to relax and refresh. The woods, while still appearing to be in the grips of winter, are alive with birdsong and squirrel chatter. Bits of green pushing through the detritus on the forest floor. My skin was warmed by the spring sun yet cooled by the evening breeze. Perfect.

A couple of slowmade cuties! Crafted from sterling silver and Carico Lake Turquoise, they’re giving spring/summer vibes! If you live in the Midwest, you know we’re currently in “Spring of Deception” mode with 75° days this week and a major drop in temps ahead. But I’m convinced that adorning yourself with one of these beebs will make the warm days arrive faster!

Spending some quality time in my studio on this rainy evening. I tuned into the workshop on The Art of Joyful Movement while fabricating this ring. What a lovely and informative session; and a great reminder to build movement into my making!
I’m making a promise to myself to interlace my fingers and stretch my arms above my head each time I finish soldering. And to do shoulder rolls every hour.
How do you incorporate mindful movement into your creative practices?

I’m missing the open spaces. The wild places. The magical sunrise vistas breathed in as my feet dangle off the edge of the canyon in Dead Horse Point State Park; complete with gritty French press camp coffee to wake my sleepy eyes after a night of wind ripping through my little tent in a barely populated campground somewhere outside of Moab, UT. Thank goodness for that moment and that memory. 🏜️

It’s that time of year when there’s a slight chance that I’ll be smitten with something pink. I can’t say it happens often; I’m more of a blue/green gal. But this Peruvian Pink Opal had me at hello! What a frickin stunner!
