An fyi when buying jewelry:
Opal is a gemstone that comes in various colors, although most people are more familiar with precious fire opals.

However,
Opalite is an opaque glass made to look like opal. It can be made into various colors, shapes, and sizes.
So when you are shopping for jewelry and see Opalite, know that it is not an actual gemstone.

You should note that Wood Opalite, however, IS a naturally occurring combination of petrified wood and opal; it is not the same thing as the aforementioned opalite.

Tina's Distinctive Designs does sell pieces created with various opals [yellow opals, precious fire opals, pink opals, African green opals, amber opals, etc.], as well as Wood Opalite, but no pieces are created using opalite glass.

These are Grade AAA garnets with Grade AAA freshwater pearls, and Grade AAA button freshwater pearls with Swarovski crystal to add a sparkling shine!
Both have gold-filled findings, as do the earrings that come with the garnet and freshwater pearl necklace.

Freshwater Pearls!

These are square freshwater pearls with copper beads, using rose gold-filled findings.

Square pearls are 100% natural, but their shape is influenced by how they are cultured inside freshwater mussels—without a round bead nucleus.

While they may be more affordable than perfectly round pearls, square pearls are highly valued for their uniqueness, shine, and modern appeal. Each one is organically irregular and has its own personality—no two are alike. Some may be more rectangular, some more rounded or asymmetrical—that’s part of their charm.

It takes 1.5–5 years for a freshwater pearl to form. During this time, the mussel deposits layers of nacre (the lustrous substance) over the tissue. The shape depends on how it settles and grows inside the mussel, making every pearl one of a kind.

African Green Opal is a rich green variety of opal usually including black or brown dendrites (fern-like inclusions), and comes in a wide range of green and brown shades. While these are common opals and do not include the color “flashes” that precious opal is known for, they are eye-catching all the same. While green opals can come from any common opal vein, both Madagascar and Tanzania specialize in mining green opals.

Aventurine.
Aventurine is a unique variety of quartz known for its signature shimmer; it is sometimes confused with jade, and is often improperly called Indian Jade. In the Ethiopian Oma Valley, talismans, beads, and tools that date back over two million years were made out of aventurine.
India and Brazil are the two most abundant producers of aventurine; it’s also found in Canada, as well as Rutland, Vermont in the United States.

Red Garnet.
Garnets come in a variety of colors and have many different varieties.
The deep red varieties of garnet have been compared to pomegranate seeds; garnet is a derivation of the word “pomegranate.” This gem can be traced back to at least 5,500 years ago, and its rich history spans the globe.
Garnet has been found in the ruins and graves of the Ancient Egyptian, Greek and Roman civilizations; the Anglo-Saxons (450 – 1066) were known to wear jewelry that featured garnet. It was mined in abundance in modern-day Czechia during the 16th century; and, during Georgian and Victorian times, garnets were very popular across Europe.
