This is but One of The hundreds of ship's never found YET, This ship lays somewhere along the coast of Florida who's gonna find her first • In 1683, the 700 ton galleon, “Santissima Concepcion,” alias “El Grande,” command by Admiral Manual Ortiz Arosemena, heading for Spain after taking on treasures at Porto Bello, Panama; Cartagena, Colombia; Veracruz, Mexico; and making a stop at Havana, was tot

ally destroyed after striking a shallow during a hurricane somewhere below the “Cape.” Of the 500 or more souls aboard her only four reached the coast on debris and made it to St. She was carrying over 1,800,000 pesos in treasure, the majority of which was silver bullion and specie. Her total gold consisting of bullion, specie and worked gold only weighed at around 1,500 pounds. However, gold was the most common object being smuggled and she probably carried ten times this amount as contraband. She also carried 77 chests of pearls, 49 chests of emeralds, 217 chests of “goods from the Orient,” and other valuables belonging to private persons (passengers). Repeated attempts to locate her were made almost yearly up until 1701. The only treasure ever found was a chest of clothes that washed ashore right after the disaster in which “some 1,500 pesos in unregistered gold jewelry” was discovered by soldiers sent down from St. All her cannon were bronze.

Well it seems like living the dream I had? Since finding my first Spanish coin while snorkeling around the keys in 1990, May Just be a lot harder these days, All in the name of Archeology, Which is very confusing to me . I worked hard, saving my money, paid my dues, I have been researching quietly for years, The tech has increased, diving equipment has improved immensely, BUT now it seems the the US GOVT is gonna shut me down by regulating the Free Enterprise System.. And shutting down the way of life for all treasure hunters, They are telling us that the lifestyle that these specific AMERICAN CITIZENS have chosen for themselves are going to be abolished.. This is America Right ? Who's Next Landscapers ? How can my Govt tell me I can't work at my chosen profession? It's the Big boy's of the treasure world, Mr Kip Fisher, and Captain Carl Fismer who are asking for the people of this country to PLEASE get more involved!!! Now I'm asking too !!!!!PLEASE call your congressman or woman ,Call your senate Representative ask them how American Citizens can be put out of a chosen profession? These guy's before me were hero's and the best damn Archaeologists our Govt could have ever asked for!!! I love My Country I just don't understand how they think in Washington sometimes..The very men they want to run out of business, Truly Respect these wrecks and cherish the history that goes with them ,These men have been combing thru history for years to find the clues needed to locate them,And now our Govt is going to tell them they CAN'T anymore...Think About it...Please.. Call your Reps, Share this page, Post to you tube..

On July 14 and 15, 1733 , a treasure laden Spanish fleet met disaster in the Florida Keys. Four galleons and 18 naos were carrying approximately 20,000,000 pesos in Mexican silver heading from Veracruz to Spain. The storm hit them on the 14th of July off of the Florida Keys and by the 15th of July the fleet was resting on the bottom of the crystal clear waters of the Florida Keys. Some of the ships ended up on the barrier reef, some made it across Hawk Channel, a 40' deep channel between the reef and the islands, and some ran aground along the shore in water as shallow as 8 ft.

The Spanish using local divers were able to recover a large portion of the treasure from the sunken fleet and several of the vessels were re-floated and continued their voyage to Spain. Over the next year and a half 12,000,000 in silver coins and ingots were recovered by the Spanish. The remaining treasure was scattered by subsequent storms which battered and destroyed the rest of the sunken fleet. [ Potter, John, S Jr. The Treasure Diver's Guide. 1960.
