Fellow Facebooks friends. I have some very bad news. For the past couple of months I have been dealing with excruciating pain in my left shoulder. A couple of weeks ago I ended up in the emergency room because I could not raise my left arm. I still have feeling and can wiggle my fingers but no movement in my arm. My right shoulder is the same but fortunately I still have movement in that arm. The diagnosis is that I have Parsonage Turner Syndrome AKA Brachial Neuropathy. Only 3 in 100,000 people have it. I can have it for two months or two years. No one knows what causes it or why it goes away quicker in some people than others. The Neurologist has put me on a Fentanyl patch to control the pain. So.......there will be no ideas coming out of woodhousedesigns for a while. I have lots of ideas but now I know what a TRex felt like with those small arms. If anybody knows of a young jeweler or a retired bench jeweler that is in need of work I have plenty for him to do. BTY I am still going to show at the Scituate Art Festival in October. The two are the ones ready to cast. The other image is the number it took to just get two good ones. The reason being. Silicone rubber to soft. Meaning of a low durometer. I like 40 and above. This felt more like 30. I think was hanging my mouth wrong because one day I couldn't cast a single one and the next day boom, boom, boom one after the other came out sort of OK. The flower is very delicate and too thin to cast in some areas so I had to go in with a wax pen and make them thicker in some areas. Up to about .040" or 40 thousandths of an inch. Yes you can go cross eyed doing this type of work.

I have also even waiting for the Bleeding Hearts to flower so I could cast a new silicone rubber mold of one of them. Well......I used an almost clear silicone as I knew I had to cast it in one go and not make a two part mold as the flower would have wilted by the time it took for the first half to cure. The only problem was that the silicone is too soft and not conducive to being filled with wax. However I did manage to get two good waxes out which I tweaked with a wax pen. Now to get them cast in silver to see how they came out.

This is another lopper bladed whittling knife I made. Old School Leathersmith made the sheath for me. I think I need to learn how to work leather.

I know I haven't posted lately but.....I have been very busy. Enclosed is an image of a structure model of a corner of a house. This was made over several weeks by my Model Making Merit Badge Scouts. To save money all the joists and studs were cut on a band saw and then planed en mass to get a consistent thickness. Good job well done Scouts.

I have also been busy making a mock up of a gallery inside a tent for the Scituate Arts Festival. Yes I have applied for a booth. We shall see if I am successful or not. I gave it my best shot. That is actually the basement meant to look like a tent. I have all the display stuff just not the tent. I might need a kick starter for that haha.

I know I haven't posted anything lately but I have still been very busy. I have this toy concept buzzing around inside my head and thought I would do something about it. So far I have made three models with another three to go. Then I will need to draw up a story board. It's all hush hush so can't say more.

So this is me working in my shop. It is a very messy shop but I like it that way. Lots of stuff around me to give me inspiration. Oh did I mention the tools.

These are the lopper blade knives I made a while back. I just had the sheaths made. No I didn't make them myself. I have limited tools for leatherwork so decided to send them out to be made by Rogue Fey. I think they did a good job.
