In honor of Merrie Monarch '26 we are releasing our 'Ulu quilt hair clips (set of 3) this weekend, in-person only . 'Ulu (Hawaiian breadfruit) was a vital canoe plant brought by the first Polynesian voyagers to the Hawaiian Islands and it is a staple of the Hawaiian diet. The 'ulu tree, with its round, green fruit and distinctive large leaves, represents growth, sustenance, prosperity and strength. Many families plant an 'ulu tree with the birth of every child. Our Manoa home has three 'ulu trees planted by my mother to represent my sister, my brother and myself. Those trees still stand tall, even today, and two of them fruit year 'round! Our 3 'ulu hairclips come in a Midnight Black, a Tortoise Shell brown, and a Forest Green on Beige. With soft edges, these 2" square hair clips are sturdy, strong and have our cut-out signature details!
