There’s something about a flower that most people walk right past that I’ve always loved.

I modeled these back in 2023 after the giant Huni bushes (West Indian Jasmine) that grew in the backyard of my father’s childhood home in Tonga.

Most people are drawn to the more dramatic flowers, but Huni is everywhere across the Pacific for good reason — it’s hardy, does well in tropical weather, and essentially takes care of itself. It’s a landscaping staple because it endures and survives. Just like us first born Pacific Islander daughters 😆

One of the Pacific’s most underrated flowers, in my humble opinion 😃 The large size (10mm) is available in solid gold and silver (pictured is what it looks like in 14k gold).

In this first photo I’m wearing the Heilala studs in 14k solid gold paired with my Finé hoops in 18k gold vermeil — two different metals, two different price points, worn together.

There are no rules when it comes to jewelry. I wear solid gold, vermeil, flash plated, gold filled — sometimes all at once! But if you’re ever unsure what to invest in, here’s how I like to think about it:

Solid gold or silver: Heirloom quality. Something you’ll wear forever and pass down one day. Worth the investment.

Vermeil: Hits the affordability sweet spot. Real value since it’s made of 100% precious metals. Holds up well with proper care.

Gold-filled: More durable than any plated option. Limited in style and no value once tarnishing begins.

Flash plated: Claire’s exists for a reason 😄 Great for a last minute outfit or one time event that needs an accessory. No stress.

Buy what fits your life and don’t let the internet convince you otherwise. 😉

18k vs 14k what’s the difference? ✨
Simply put: Purity & color.

• 18k gold = 75% pure gold Slide 1. Richer, deeper yellow tone. Loved for its luxurious color and especially popular across Europe.

• 14k gold = 58.5% pure gold Slides 2 & 3. Slightly lighter in color, incredibly durable, and the most popular choice here in the U.S.

Our unpopular opinion is that neither option is better than the other. It all comes down to your preference, budget and how the tone compliments your skin. Some love the bold warmth of 18k, others prefer the softer glow of 14k.
