Dogs’ noses & horses’ backs….
I shipped off this sweet nose print last Friday. This pup’s name is Cowboy, which made me smile - my daughter and I were leaving that same day for a Girl Scout weekend at a horse ranch.

And this is my balance I try to find….present with the molds that are delivered to my studio; present with the people who live above it….

Sending some ❤️ heading into a beautiful weekend!

I love this double paw print because it shows so beautifully how different two paws can be from one another. Variations in texture, wisps of fur, contours. Even if you choose to cast just a portion of your pet’s paw print, there’s never ever going to be another piece like it!

Each year since Amelia’s death from a rare pediatric cancer, we’ve joined her family in honoring her birthday with a butterfly release. This weekend, during their release, one of the monarchs flew to Angela’s necklace that I made for her: Amelia’s fingerprints on a butterfly. It’s the only butterfly I’ve ever created. This beautiful monarch floated above our heads before landing on Angela’s necklace, resting for a while next to Amelia’s silver butterfly.

Today would have been Amelia’s 8th birthday. This is especially meaningful this year because, today, Angela’s son, Anderson, and my son Silas - friends since meeting during Amelia’s treatments - are wrapping up their time in elementary school. It’s absolutely a celebration for them….but also a reminder that so many children, for far too many reasons, don’t get to achieve the same milestones.

So, as we remember this special little girl on her birthday; as we move on toward bigger achievements; and as we look forward to a summer of pool time, vacations, and friends — may we also take a quiet moment to send out love to all of our children and to those who cherish them. 🧡🦋
