Maria is an aspiring architect currently in her senior year at Culver City High School. She selected a nautical pastel drawing based on a poet/sailing enthusiast pal’s photo. (The plastic sleeve over my original matted drawing creates a distortion so I provide the actual unpackaged art on the right.) I used Sennelier pastels when I created this image in Italy. Thrilled that Matthew who was telling me he’s to be married in Santa Barbara, California selected gifts from my original watercolors: the Hecata Head Lighthouse in Oregon and my Italian lemon. So glad to meet you at Playa Vista Farmers' Market! (Some wonderful coincidences: my daughter was also married at the Santa Barbara Courthouse, Matthew just came back from Italy where I spend part of the year, and he graduated from University of Pennsylvania (I graduated from Swarthmore College), and, like my son, he majored in Economics!) So much fun to find these connections. Have a wonderful ceremony!
