Cook Islands Mules; 2005 "Leaders of WWII" Reverses mated with a 2004 D-Day Reverse. These were all minted separate from the regular mintage for a marketing firm that wanted to sell them "raw". The rest of the mintage (with the normal Queen Elizabeth II obverse) had been encapsulated in special commemorative cards. The D-Day coin came in a card that included a capsule containing sand from Normandy beach. Total mintage on the mules was 100 pieces for each design. Few were sold by the marking firm before they went out of business and the error was caught.
