Have you heard about my butterfly art project fundraiser?! You’re invited to adopt a butterfly for a suggested donation of $4.44. For every butterfly you adopt one recycled paper butterfly cutout representing you and your support will be added to an art installation I’ll be creating inside Themis and Thread’s new studio. The specific design will be determined according to the success of the Spring Butterfly Adoptions. We’re up to 113 butterflies! The art piece will either be one of the first things folks see when they enter the studio or it will be prominently displayed where photos and videos are taken. The more butterfly adoptions, the more dynamic the art installation! Some of the ideas I have are shadow box, entry way arch, curtain or backdrop. This is the first of a series of project fundraisers that are designed to bring you into my new space in a variety of ways while helping me fund renting and furnishing my new studio. I’m also on the hunt for a Studio Assistant! When you become an early adopter by participating in the Spring Butterfly Adoption you’ll be helping fund my dream of having a studio and business that more deeply supports women showing up for what’s important to them, it will secure your permanent spot in the studio, you will be listed in our early adopters’ guest book displayed with the art, and you’ll get early access to event invitations and other special promotions reserved just for you!

Did you know a gathering of butterflies is called a kaleidoscope— pretty cool huh?! When you become a butterfly parent through our Spring Butterfly Adoption effort you’re not just ‘showing” me support, you ARE supporting me and Themis and Thread and you’re becoming an integral part of our kaleidoscope! I’ve always loved and connected with butterflies; Their symbolism represents what we all want to believe is true, that impossible seeming transformations are REAL : the unassuming caterpillar becoming the magnificent butterfly. Truth be told, I feel like I’m waiting in the primordial goo-cocoon phase (did you know the caterpillar dissolves completely before reforming inside the cocoon to take its new shape?!) Imagine how dark and confusing it must be for the caterpillar and then the butterfly before they break out?! In my cocoon I’m planning and saving and also seeking support. Adopting a butterfly is a way anyone anywhere can offer support and reserve a tiny butterfly shaped spot in my new sewing studio for a small donation. This art project fundraiser is a way for my business to bank startup capital while we’re in this growth phase. It’s also a way to bring you and color into my new space! Thank you for being by my side through this transition, it means the world to me just that you are here, regardless of any contribution beyond your readership. Adopt a butterfly for Themis and Thread’s new studio art project fundraiser! Spring Butterfly Adoption is now open through June 14th! This is the first of a series of art projects to fill the new studio with color, love and your powerful energy once we’re able to move in. Getting closer bit by bit. This loft that I will be renting as my studio was completely unfinished. The past three months have been chock full of renovations! Everything had to be done : insulation, framing, pluming, wiring, it was bare bones! No walls, no floor, no power, no toilet. And now it’s coming to life! What’s extra cool about preparing to enter into a brand new space is that its owners and the contractors are all amazing humans I know and love! This loft is above the garage at a family homestead where owner Jenna grew up; And it’s now a part of a farm that owner John runs. The room was insulated by the husband of a custom bridal client, thanks Chewy! And DJ & Kenny have been working hard building out the space - this is super cool because I’ve known these guys most of my life and remember them working for Kenny’s dad doing construction a bazillion years ago. Jenna and John have done so much of the work too, and Jenna’s dad! It’s really special to know these folks and to get to experience their expertise! I am so grateful they’re working so hard, seriously you guys, THANK YOU! Promise I’ll take really good care of it 🤗
