Your kid will never sit for 8 hours if you don’t start with trying it for 8 minutes. You’ll never know how to braid if you never try. The first step is keeping those curls healthy, and detangled. Second step is finding protective styles (braids, twists etc.), then try parting (again, you won’t ever get better if you don’t try). Then work your way up, but you saying “I don’t know how to braid” is a pretty poor excuse for neglecting your babies crown. Unless you’re willing to pay $200+ a month per head, I would sit that baby down and get practicing! This is about 3 years of consistently trying and failing new styles, products, and methods. After I started sharing our hair day journey (and seeing some solid progress) the comments that flooded those videos from women expressing they wished their mama had taken the time to learn how to care for their curly hair when they were little have been a huge motivator for me!! So thank you internet strangers turned friends, for helping me see the value in properly caring for their hair 💜
Can’t wait to see where we’ll get in the next 3 years (cornrows, boho braids, moracle knots, and Knotless braids are on our list)!
