Granada is located in the southern part of Spain which in the Andalusian area. He came to the United States from Spain with his Mother, Angeles in 1969 and settled in Pittsburgh Pennsylvania. At that time he was enrolled in Keystone Oaks High School; knowing very little English he graduated with honors and enrolled in college. Angel Studied at the University of Pittsburgh where he studied Biology
, Anthropology, and several languages. There he received a Bachelor of Arts and Science Degree. Coming from generations of Jewelers he worked as a jeweler through High school and College with his brother at the Clark Building in Pittsburgh, PA. A year before graduation from college he opened his first repair shop at Greengate Mall in Greensburg, PA, that was in 1974. This repair shop was in the back of De Roy's Jewelers (known today as Kay's). In 1975 he started doing repairs for such major retailers as Kaufman's, Service Merchandise, JC Penney, Montgomery Wards, Sears, Horne's plus many more. These retailers were from a 3 county radius, and he continued this work up until 1987. He then slowed down the retail repairs to focus on his own customers. It is still know today that he did these repairs as we do get that "emergency repair call" from time to time from retailers. In 1985 he opened his first retail Kiosk in Westmoreland Mall. In 1990 he moved from the kiosk to a store next to Kaufman's, which today stands Macy's Furniture store. At that time he had 4 Jewelers including himself, and 4 wonderful women working sales. In 1997 he moved the store out of Westmoreland Mall to the Davis Shopping Center where he has remained since. Throughout Angel's wonderful career he has trained 3 jewelers that have moved on to have their own careers and stores. These Jewelers do repairs, custom work, and have the Garcia flair. He is proud of them all in their own way. There is his Nephew, Frank Weiss. He owns Golden Creations located in Murrysville. He trained and worked with Angel in Greengate Mall and Westmoreland Mall. There is his nephew, Miguel Garcia . He has his own repair shop in Edmund's Jewelers in Pleasant Hills. He trained and worked with Angel at Westmoreland Mall and Davis Shopping Center. He also trained and worked with his brother Paco Garcia at the Clark Building in Pittsburgh, PA. Then there is his Nephew, Pepe Garcia Fernandez. He lived in Cambrils, Spain. Now living in Germany.
