Looks complicated but not as hard as you think. These were a fun carve. Making 2 matching double snake rings was not as bad as you think since I just printed the design and transferred to each wax. A UNIQUE choice for an engagement ring to say the least but the reason why this agate was chosen was that the couple found this agate on their first date walking on the shores of Lake Michigan. Shark tooth engagement ring … Only one I have ever made. Platinum shark teeth and a Diamond make quite the combo for an engagement ring. Perfect for that marine biologist 😉 ….SOLD…. Turning sterling silver into oxidized sterling. Here I use liver of sulfur to turn this ring dark. It is basically tarnishing silver but on purpose. It’s not a permanent treatment. As the ring is worn the oxidization rubs off and makes its own patina but the recessed areas stay dark. This process is not difficult and can be done over and over again. I personally love the oxidized sterling and yellow gold style. That gold just pops surrounded by dark metal. Everything here is handcrafted in house. We are not mass-producing this wearable art. Hard to believe it’s been that long. 9 years ago we took the plunge and opened the doors on a Saturday on August 1 2017. It’s been a long hard road with many a days/years not sure if we were going to make it but 9 years later we’re still here. I always wanted to open my own business but worked for other jewelry stores from 1995-2017 until the time was right and this opportunity came along. It was a total God thing in how it all came about and give Him all the glory for without God I would have failed along time ago.
