Thank you to our local Grayling City Police Department! Needless to say we were disappointed when we were broken into this past December but our local law enforcement did us proud and caught the individual responsible.

Arrest Made in December Business Break-Ins

The Grayling Police Department has made an arrest in connection with a series of business break-ins that occurred during the early morning hours of Saturday, Dec. 13, 2025.

After an extensive investigation, Grayling police officers identified a person of interest who made deliberate attempts to conceal his identity. Through continued investigative work and coordination with partner agencies, officers were able to overcome those efforts and take the suspect into custody on Feb. 6, 2026, in Isabella County. During the course of the investigation, officers executed a search warrant at the suspect’s residence and located items relevant to the investigation.

The suspect, Kyle Wilson, a 41-year-old Mount Pleasant man with no known ties to the Grayling area, was arrested and charged with:

• Three felony counts of breaking and entering
• Two counts of attempted breaking and entering
• One count of safe breaking

Wilson was arraigned today, Feb. 10, 2026, in the 87th District Court, where bond was set at $50,000.

Throughout the investigation, information was intentionally not released to the public. This decision was made to protect the integrity of the investigation, preserve evidentiary value, and ensure the best possible outcome, which ultimately resulted in this arrest. The department appreciates the patience and understanding shown by the business community and residents while this investigation was ongoing. Protecting the integrity of the process was essential to holding the individual responsible accountable.

I commend the officers of the Grayling Police Department for their dedication, persistence, and professionalism throughout this investigation. Their tireless work, attention to detail, and commitment to seeing this case through were instrumental in achieving this outcome.

The Grayling Police Department also thanks its law enforcement partners for their assistance and collaboration, including the Michigan State Police, the Michigan Intelligence Operations Center, the Crawford County Sheriff’s Office, the Roscommon County Sheriff’s Office, the Mount Pleasant Police Department, and Saginaw Chippewa Tribal Law Enforcement. Their cooperation and support were instrumental in bringing this case to a successful conclusion.

This case remains under review as it proceeds through the court system. No further details will be released at this time.
