Lisa Scala is a gifted designer and metalsmith whose unique collection of handmade artisan jewelry has delighted customers for over 30 years. Each of her one-of-a-kind pieces is infused with spiritual meaning and a connection with the natural world. As she puts it, “My designs are inspired by the subtle beauty all around u

A highly skilled jewelry artist, Lisa is a member of the prestigious League of NH Craftsmen. She has received awards from multiple arts organizations, and her work has been featured at high-end galleries across the US. Lisa holds a degree in Jewelry and Metalsmithing from Maine College of Art. Seeking to connect on a personal level with her customers, Lisa opened her own, dedicated retail gallery in 2010. The relationships she’s developed have become deeper than she might have expected. “I enjoy learning about each person’s spiritual path and what they might find helpful. I’m able to translate that into jewelry that holds great meaning, reflecting an individual’s style, inspiration and personal strengths.”

See the Artist Try It On - Radiant Buddha Necklace – Agate, Quartz

A necklace can be admired as an object, but trying it on reveals its true character.

The moment the Radiant Buddha Necklace rests against the body, its proportions come alive. The luminous hand-carved Quartz Buddha appears to float against the natural Agate, while the black patinated copper collar frames the pendant and gives it a quietly commanding presence.

This is what I love about creating unique statement jewelry: the relationship between the piece and the person wearing it. On the body, this necklace feels less like an accessory and more like a personal talisman—serene, sculptural, and unmistakably individual.

As I try it on, I notice the details from a new perspective: the small Pyrite bindi catching the light, the organic edge of the Agate, and the contrast between the bright sterling silver and darkened copper. Every choice was made by hand, but it is only when the necklace is worn that the entire composition feels complete.
