✨ Today we’re turning the spotlight on someone who never asks for it… surprise! 🎉 Happy Birthday to our very own Dawn of Pärla!

If you know Dawn, you know she’s always on the go and pouring her heart into everything she does. When she’s not curating beautiful treasures at Pärla, she’s also managing .hideaway_geneva, working at St. Charles Country Club, supporting local events, helping animals, and finding ways to give back to the community she loves so much.

She has a huge heart for rescue animals and every year proudly opens her shop doors to support adoption events with Anderson Humane. When she’s not working, you’ll usually find her spending time with her adorable pups, her pet pig, traveling with her husband and kids, or making memories with family and friends.

Dawn, thank you for all the kindness, creativity, laughter, and love you bring to so many people. We hope your birthday is as special as you are! 💕🎂✨

✨ Today is First Fridays in downtown Geneva and Pärla is excited to participate in the first-ever Geneva Art Explosion Event this Saturday, May 2nd!

We’ll be featuring two talented artists who also happen to be part of our Pärla team: Willow from Geneva and Janet Foula, also known as Julianna of the Mountains, from Aurora.

Willow creates beautiful digital and film photography, developing and scanning her own film at home. Her work captures the way photography can shift your perspective, emotion, and connection to a place.

Janet will be showcasing illustration and impressionist acrylic canvas art, along with creative storytelling inspired by nature, photography, and fiber sculpture.

From 10 AM–5 PM, visitors can stroll through participating merchants in downtown Geneva and enjoy pop-up galleries featuring local talent. We hope you’ll stop by Pärla, meet our artists, and visit our wonderful small business neighbors in Dodson Place while you’re here!
