Best Petrified Wood contest that was held this week by Highland Park Lapidary Co. There were 119 entries submitted and after the rounds of voting were completed we were very happy to place 3rd with a cabochon made from Arizona Petrified Wood. Thank you to Highland Park and its team for putting on another well organized event.

Got a really nice chunk of Tiffany Stone from the mine owner. Shown on the slab saw prior to cutting then on to the trim saw, cabbing machine and final polish. Next step Lori Rowland will turn into a piece of fine jewelry for a show later this year.

Second year competing in February Hearts competition.
Last year we placed 2nd out of 62 entries. This year it was an open competition for any type of heart design / material and the entries more than doubled with 153 submissions. After all the rounds of voting we were very excited to place 3rd with a black lace heart. Big Thank You to Highland Park Lapidary Co. for putting it on again this year.

Entered a competition held by Highland Park Lapidary for the best Indonesian material which covers a wide range of rock.

We entered our two heart cabochons of Red Fingerprint Jasper in the contest. Some of the other entries submitted were spheres, cabochons, polished pieces and finished jewelry.

Out of 128 entries both of our heart cabochons made it into the semifinal round of the top 6, just missing the final round. Thank you Highland Park for a well organized competition.
