Carmel-by-the-Sea… what a magical place to be.

Long before David Adams Fine Jewelry, David spent part of his early career apprenticing with Orlando Feriozzi of Feriozzi de Roma, tucked away in a quaint shop on a quiet street in Carmel, California. It was there that he focused on traditional European stone-setting techniques and developed skills that would influence his work for decades to come.

Last week, we had the opportunity to return to Carmel and revisit the little shop that played such an important role in David’s story.

Though Orlando Feriozzi has since passed, the memories came flooding back the moment David walked to the door. The wonderful associate at graciously welcomed us in and gave David the chance to reminisce—showing us where the shop and gallery once stood, how the cases were arranged, and where the work was done.

He remembered looking through the large back window down onto the patio of the , never knowing what familiar face or celebrity might wander into view.

There was something incredibly special about standing there all these years later, listening to David tell the stories of a younger version of himself learning his craft in Carmel.

Places change. People come and go. But the lessons, traditions, and memories we carry with us have a way of shaping everything that comes after.

A little piece of Carmel made its way to Fayetteville with David—and you can still see it in his work today.

This exceptional design was featured in the 2000 Fayetteville Fine Arts Festival as part of the award-winning collection that earned First Place in the Three-Dimensional Art category. Originally owned by a prominent local political figure, the piece reflects David Adams' enduring legacy of craftsmanship, artistry, and Northwest Arkansas history.

Hand forged in 18k & 22k Yellow gold, framed in with Palladium. All stones are bezel set with four diamonds, a Moonstone and a Purple Sodalite. Architecturally inspired and designed and crafted with love.

Digging through the archives today and Maddie found our grand opening banner for our corner store location in 1999! We’ve been on this corner ever since, many refer to our spot as “the David Adams Building”
