Hello friends!

Sadly, we will not have a store in 2021. Even though Belvedere is open, only half of the students will attend in-person. We feel it wouldn't be equitable to hold the event this year. But we are still collecting jewelry so we can come roaring back in 2022!

Hello friends, if the pandemic has you doing some extra cleaning and organizing, please consider donating your gently used costume jewelry to Belvedere ES. Typically, we organize a "store" in May, so students can shop for a piece of jewelry to gift to the special woman in their life.

Last year's store was cancelled, and 2021 is up in the air. But if we can continue to collect jewelry now, it will help keep this amazing program going in the years ahead.

I can arrange a socially-distant pickup, or I can provide my address so you can drop off donations.

Hello friends! This year's Jewelry Shop for Mom is scheduled for April 30 and May 1. Stay tuned for specific volunteering activities, but in the meantime, we need to start collecting donations! They can be dropped off at the Belvedere office. Thank you!

COSTUME JEWELRY DONATIONS NEEDED

In honor of Mother’s Day, the Belvedere PTA will be hosting a “Jewelry Shop for Mom” in early May. Every Belvedere student will be able to earn a ticket to “shop” for one free piece of costume jewelry for their mother, stepmother, grandmother, or other special woman in their life.

We’re collecting donations of gently used:
• necklaces
• bracelets
• pins
• pierced or clip earrings

If you have any costume jewelry you no longer wear, we’d be grateful to have it. The jewelry doesn’t have to be fancy – just something in good condition that might make a student and one of their “moms” smile on Mother’s Day.

We need about 1,000 pieces of jewelry to give the students a wide selection to choose from. We’re also accepting monetary donations to help pay for supplies – tissue paper, gift bags and card tags. Checks can be made payable to “Belvedere PTA” with “jewelry shop” in the memo line.

There’s a donation box in the Belvedere front office or you can contact Jen Hitchcock at 703-489-7024 or [email protected] to arrange a pick up.

It's that time again! Belvedere's Jewelry Shop for Mom is back! I'm late putting this out, but we've already received a few donations. If you know someone who's doing some Spring cleaning in their jewelry box, please encourage them to donate to Belvedere.
