My parents married August 30, 1958 and had Andy Don Jr. on September 8, 1966 and I completed our family on January 5, 1973. They were only married for 30 yrs when my father lost his battle with cancer.
Mom never remarried and dedicated her entire life to making sure we were taken care of and was certain we would get our college education as she had promised our father.
We both lived many years after college in the larger cities, but when it was time for us to come back home and help Mom we made the decision to leave the rat race and do so.
We opened Armadillo Emporium in 2012 so we could be home and spend some much needed time with our mother, family and friends.
As we celebrate our upcoming 14 year anniversary at Armadillo Emporium and my brother’s BIG 60th birthday. I can’t help but look back on our lives and think of our Dad in hopes that he is looking down at the three of us with pride in his eyes and that we have made him proud. We are thankful for this day when they were united some 68 years ago❤️
That blue eyed blonde headed Teague Lion🦁 and that Eagle basketball player🦅 met at a FFA banquet back in 1954 and the rest is history. Love you Mom and Dad❤️
