Hey Tribe, wanted to let you know what's goin on with me.
So on Monday I was on my lunch break from work when my chest began to tighten up, thinking it was a Wolfe-Parkinson-White (WPW) episode (a heart condition i have) I thought it would pass in a few minutes. While waiting for it to pass the tightness became so great that I thought I would call my co-worker to let him know I might not be able to go back to work for the day while on the phone with him I became so winded I was not able to finish the conversation with him so he immediately came to my house to find me on the ground clutching my chest only able to take very short and shallow breathes and unable to communicate springing into action he rushed me to the hospital where I was admitted immediately they took an X-ray of my chest to see that my right lung had collapsed this was at about 1:30 in the afternoon the doctor then proceeded to insert a chest tube to re-inflate my lung at around 3:30 pm I had my entire lung collapsed to the size of a racket ball. This sudden pressure of the collapse then started putting pressure on my heart's main arteries, the SVC and the IVC. which reduced the blood flow to my heart, lungs, and. I was then put on a device that would draw the air out of my chest cavity where my lung would be able to re-inflate once the lung was able to re-inflate they took a CT scan where they discovered considerable lung damage and what they refer to as blebs on my upper right lung. Blebs are formed when your lungs alveoli are damaged and they begin to fuse together to form what looks like a large air sack on the outside of the lung. the blebs had somehow developed a micro pinhole that was letting out enough air into my chest cavity to pressurize all of the air out of my right lung. After having found the blebs and seeing the condition of my lungs the doctor told me that if I were to leave the damaged lung there's a 90% chance of me not making it through another episode and my only option is to remove the damage. So the following day I went into surgery where they removed a 3-inch piece of my upper right lung. The condition that caused the initial collapse of the lung is known as Spontaneous Pneumothorax. I spent the rest of the week in the I.C.U. with a chest tube in to make sure that the lung would adhere to the chest cavity and the lung itself wasn't releasing any air after the surgery. They removed the chest tube (that was a weird feeling being wide awake for that) yesterday and discharged me that morning. This was a completely random event that took place at home while on a lunch break, this could have gone much worse to say the least. I Am so Thankful for my buddy Payton Nash for being a bad m***a f***a and getting me to the hospital like a bat outta hell!!! as well as my crew for the love and support during this time. I'm still coming to grasp how close I was to checking out but if there is something I can speak to I feel like I was being kept safe and taken care of by an unseen force that guided me through this experience with more Grace and love than I could have ever expected! I feel as if I've been further blessed by Grace to continue life and I am Sooo Thankful to be given the privilege to do so.
I love you and am Thankful for you Tribe I'm looking forward to seeing you all!!!
Love and light
Michael
