Christmas Eve 2025 down at the shop. I'm in the store until 3:00 pm today if you need any help. I've got the Christmas Blues Music playing on Pandora. Happy Holidays to all, and wishing the New Year brings joy.🧐

My current situation, and New Look. Missing a bit of facial hair, and quite a few pounds. Nice to be back at the shop, even if it's limited hours. 🧐

Hello everyone,
Thought I should post an update on the shop and my personal situation. As some of you know, the shop has been closed for quite some time due to health issues. I have been recovering from treatments for cancer at home. My prognosis is good, and I am finally starting to turn the corner and am feeling like returning to the store in a limited fashion. Although I do not know what the future holds, and the amount of time I'm able to work, I very much miss being at the shop doing what I love.
The rehabilitation on my nerve damaged hand will continue, limiting the type of watch repairs I am able to do with confidence and do correctly. Because of this I will not be accepting any major repairs such as complete services, cleaning and oiling, balance staff replacement, hairspring work, and other types of repairs that need a very steady hand. I will be able to do some common repairs such as most battery replacemnts, some band sizings, stem and crown replacements, some crystal replacements, and others.
I appriciate your understanding, and your putting up with my condition and absence from the store. Feel free to stop by, or call to check on how life is progressing. For now I'm planning on being open Wednesday, Thursday, & Friday from Noon until 3:00 pm if possible. I do have doctors appointments that could affect these hours occaisionaly, so please do call if you're traveling some distance.
I'm looking forward to getting back to work, and helping with your repairs or watch needs.
Sincerely,
Marc

Hi Everyone, Due to some medical reasons the shop hours will be varied for the next several weeks/months. I'm hoping it will look something like this starting tomorrow. Open Wednesday-Friday 12:00-4:00, and Saturday 11:00-3:00. This is a fluid situation and I'm really hoping I can be there for more hours than I'm looking at right now. Please be understanding, I'm truely sorry for any inconveinences this change of hours causes anyone. Thank You. 🧐

Cappers Frame shop here in Eugene did a fantastic job framing these old reverse painted glass signs for me. Just got the six of them hung up today. WATCH, REPAIRING, WATCHES, DIAMONDS, JEWELRY, CUT GLASS. They're not in the best condition, but they're preserved now. Love the old advertising signs from Jewelry Stores and Watch Shops circa 1800's and early 1900's.

On a not so happy note...I am still having difficulty with my hand recovery. I have a new doctor, and we're charting a new path to hopefully push this ahead, time will tell. Because of this situation I will not be accepting any new major repairs at this time.

On another not so happy note, I'm not going to be open as much as I have been in the past. Due to personal and medical reasons you may find the shop closed occasionally. Trying to work a new set of hours, Tuesday - Friday 11:00-4:00, and Saturday 11:00-3:00, however these hours and days may be affected by this. My apologies for any inconveniences caused by this rescheduling.

Thank you for your understanding, looking forward to helping you with your watch repairs in the near future.

Happy Tuesday March 12, 2024. Some of you may have heard of the minor construction the city of Eugene has started in order to enhance downtown streets this late winter, early spring. Evidently the perfect storm is happening right now, where not just one or two street improvement projects happened all at once, it's many more. Some say parking can be a challenge downtown Eugene? As you can see by the pictures here, parking in front of the shop is easy if you show up early Tuesday morning, coordinate with the temporary fence company, set up your own double wide garage/parking spot, then pull in your two Cat's and call it a day. Don't worry, these projects are due to be all finished up by July 1, 2024. Come on down, I'm here, unfortunately my hand is still in rehab and I'm not able to do major repairs yet. Hope springs eternal. 🧐

Hello out there in Winter-land. The shop is closed due to the ice. We'll see what Tuesday afternoon and evening bring, hopefully temps above freezing. Hoping to slide down here Wednesday to open at some point. Sorry for the inconvenience. Stay safe, stay home, throw another log on the fire. 🧐

Well, Hello out there. There's some new/old watches in my counter as of lately. If you haven't been by the shop in a while, you may want to poke your head in to check out the new/old inventory. I've been fortunate to have found a colleague to help in restoring some of my watches while I continue to rehab my hand after surgeries. There are Chronographs, Seamaster's, Tank Style, Fancy Yellow dial Ladies Oyster, Diamond Dress solid gold, Patek, Triple Date, Sea Wolf with Bakelite bezel, 18K Ruby Diamond Dress, Gruen Executive, LeCoultre, 14K Fancy Lug Longines, Mystery Dial Longines, and more on the way. Maybe you're looking for a special gift for someone, or you have a hankering to add something unique to your personal collection? The shop's open most regular hours, Tues-Fri 11:00-5:00, most Saturdays 11:00-3:00. If you're traveling a fair distance please check to see that I'm not out goofing off or visiting doctors. On the subject of watch repairs...I'm still not accepting anything major. My hand is back to maybe 50%, and the improvement is painstakingly slow. I'm able to do minor things like installing batteries, bands, some stems or crowns and such, but no overhauls. I will continue to do PT, and hopefully get back to 75-85% so I can return to doing what I love, fixing old watches. Hoping you are all well. Happy Holidays, Marc

Well, hello out there. I'm still here, just getting older evidently. It's the end of May and I am still working on rehabbing my hand so I can get back to work. The progress is painfully slow, nerve damage is taking it's own sweet time healing. I'm able to do some minor types of watch related work, such as replacing some batteries, doing some band sizing's, installing some watch bands, and some minor repairs like installing a crystal, or possible fitting a new stem and crown. My normal watch repairs that require intricate work with a steady hand and coordination are still a long ways off. There is certainly improvement from post surgeries, just seemingly minor amounts each passing month.
Doctors, therapist, and I will be re-evaluating my condition and progress in early July to chart a path forward. At this time in my recovery I don't see being able to do any complete watch servicing for some months. For all of my customers that have been patiently waiting for repairs already in line, I am extremely sorry. For those customers with repairs waiting to get checked in, I'm pretty sure this Fall will be the soonest I can foresee helping.
The shop is, and will remain open most regular hours, for hopefully the next 20 plus years. My mission is to get healed up, get past this pause, and get back to fixing the vintage and antique watches I love to work on. Not only for my great customers timepieces, but also for my own watches waiting to be fixed so they can be put out for sale.
Thank you all so very much for being patient with me in this terribly long journey back.
Sincerely,
Marc Anderson

As if I needed something else that does not work. My email is gone kaput. I'm working on resolving the issues, sorry for any inconveniences caused by this.
My hand and nerve issues are in the process of reverting back to what I hope will be normal. It's been a very long journey. Hoping to be back up and repairing watches in March?
Thank you all for your continued support. I really do miss fixing old watches.
The shop is normally open regular hours, Tues-Fri 11:00-5:00, Sat 11:00-3:00. Still not accepting any new repairs at this time, sorry.
Happy New Year, certainly won't be chaotic as 2022?

Hello Everyone, Today is Saturday June 25th, and I'm down here at the shop paying bills, good times. I finally have some good news concerning my injuries, and the reason my hand has not been working, or functioning correctly for the past couple of months. I have two surgeries scheduled in the next couple of weeks to fix two damaged nerves in my wrist and elbow.
As many of you know, I have not been able to hold my watch repair tools, or do even simple, minor watch repairs for some time. With the expected recovery time, I am hoping to be back doing what I love, fixing old watches, sometime in September.
Until I get back to work, and complete some backlogged repairs, I will not be accepting any new repairs.
For those who have been waiting patiently for your repairs already here at the shop, I want to sincerely thank you for being so understanding. For those who have been patiently waiting to drop off new repairs, and are willing to put up with me for a bit longer, I would like to thank you also, and ask you contact me in September to check on my status.
Here's to moving forward, and returning to work.
Thank you all again,
Marc
