This week, we’re featuring Larimar. Larimar is a rare blue variety of the mineral pectolite, with beautiful color ranges from light blue to deep turquoise, often with white marbling that resembles ocean waves. Found only in the Dominican Republic, this rock has been prized for its calming, water-like appearance and is sometimes called the “Atlantis Stone” or “Dolphin Stone.”

🪶 Fun Fact:
Did you know? Some legends link Larimar to the lost city of Atlantis, adding a mystical and historical allure to the stone.

💎 Properties
• Hardness: Larimar is relatively soft (4.5–5 on the Mohs hardness scale), it is durable enough for jewelry when handled with care.
• Composition: Larimar is a rare variety of pectolite, a sodium calcium silicate mineral with the chemical formula NaCa₂Si₃O₈(OH).
• Common Uses: Larimar is highly sought after in jewelry, especially in pendants, rings, and bracelets.
