BBQ Fundraiser Adjustment Notice: In response to business needs, the BBQ fundraiser is undergoing a change. All plate buyers are to receive a gift certificate, which they can redeem for their plate on a date of their preference at Green Top BBQ. Redemption involves presenting the certificate at Green Top BBQ. Certificates are expected to be handed out the week following and will be given to the respective members for distribution. If the certificates are not received within the specified timeframe, kindly get in touch. We are grateful for your support.

Our members are set up at Bozeman’s on Main Street pre selling BBQ plates! Come out and place your orders! We need to presell 100 plates! The funds raised will go towards maintenance of our station and maintenance of our trucks. We appreciate all of your support! Plates are $15 and you can choose from pulled pork or smoked chicken. It comes with 2 sides (bakes beans, coleslaw or fries) plate comes with sauce and buns. Plates will be made to order at pickup. We will announce the pickup day once we have our 100 plates pre sold.

Some of our members are setup at Piggly Wiggly in Dora today pre selling BBQ plates! We have extended our sale giving everyone more time to get your plates! We will post the new pick up day and times as soon as we have 46 more plates sold! So, come on down to the Piggy Wiggly and get your order in! The pick up day will be some time in April. With our chief just out of the hospital again, we thought it best to extend our sale. All of the funds raised from the BBQ plates will go towards maintenance of our station and maintenance on our trucks. We appreciate all of you!

Update on Chief Owens:

As long as he has a good night, we will go home tomorrow. I am happy to go home and terrified at the same time. But, God did not give us the spirit of fear but of peace, love and a sound mind. His speech sounds a tiny bit better today and I pray it gets better each day. Home health will be coming out once a week to check his pic line and draw labs to make sure there is no infection trying to set up. This relieves me but I also know having the pic line makes him more susceptible to infection in some ways. The plan is make sure it is cleaned thoroughly and often and all of his antibiotics will be administered with the utmost care and caution. On another note my car is still in the shop 🤦🏼‍♀️ waiting on the right alternator to come in. I was really hoping it would be fixed by the time he was released because driving the van for work is heavy on the gas! They have already told my job is there waiting whenever I’m ready to go back. I will probably take a few days to get Chris situated then go back. Please pray my car is fixed by then 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻 it is going to cost a pretty penny for this new alternator and get this, the car has one payment left and it’s paid off! 😒 ugh but such is life! Please pray we do not have to come back to this hospital, that his pic line stays free of infection, his foot heals quickly and completely with no issues and that his spirit stays strong. I know it’s hard on him being a man. It’s hard on anyone because we are not supposed to lose parts of our body. Please continue to share our story on go fund me. Every $1 helps so much right now. Update on Chief Owens:

Dr. Thomas (the neurologist) just came by and said Chris’ MRI was clear! 🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻 praise God! He said he fully expected to see another stroke but there was not one. He thinks since Chris had another major infection with the staph, his body was under a ton of stress and his electrolytes were very off that this speech impairment is a symptom (like an aftershock) from the first stroke. He used a term but I cannot remember. Bottom line, this man has got to stay off of this foot and let it heal and I’m gonna be putting him in a bubble! lol! Please pray that his foot heals completely without complications and that he has NO MORE infections 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻 Dr. Thomas said he believes that his speech will clear on its own just like his strength came back. Update on Chief Owens:
He had his MRI of the brain today but we have not seen the neurologist yet. He also received his pic line and we have IV antibiotics to go home with. His speech is still very impaired. Please pray we find answers on what is causing it and a solution to fix it 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻 because whatever is going on is definitely concerning and not normal. Please pray there is no more infections, especially now that he has this pic line. He is going to aggravated with me about keeping everything clean but that is what it is going to take lol! Please keep sharing our story on go fund me. I know God will provide all of our needs. Please if you can’t give, just clicking the share button helps tremendously. The past few months have been challenging financially, emotionally, physically and spiritually but I do know I have seen God’s hand every step of the way and I have complete faith that everything will be fine. Update on Chief Owens:

His foot doctor came by and said to stay off of it as much as possible. Now we have to tackle this impaired speech. We originally thought his tongue was swollen but turns out, that’s not the case. The hospital doctor looked at his tongue and didn’t see any swelling. His tongue was trembling uncontrollably but that has ceased. Now he is very impaired speech. It’s like his brain isn’t communicating with his tongue to form words correctly. The tongue is a muscle and your brain controls your muscles. So he had a CT scan earlier and we are waiting on results. The neurologist will come by tomorrow at some point to take a look at everything but they do believe it is something neurological and with him being a stroke survivor, we aren’t taking any chances. Please keep praying for him. For his foot to heal completely with no complications, for whatever this speech problem is it’s nothing serious and for our go fund me to reach as far as it can. Between our power bill, car insurance and everyday expenses, it is overwhelming. But, I know the King of the Universe will provide. We are so thankful for everything we have been given. God is so good and we are beyond blessed ❤️🙌🏻❤️ We pray God blesses each of you.
