Some leave with confidence to speak in class.
To audition.
To make friends.
To take up space.
To say yes...or no.

Some leave knowing how to handle nerves.
How to practice something difficult.
How to keep going after mistakes.
How to breathe through hard moments.

Some leave with memories of singing with you after a difficult school day.
Some leave remembering that your studio was the one place they felt safe to be fully themselves.

Voice lessons were never just about singing.

And even if a student only stays for one season, they carry pieces of your teaching with them for the rest of their lives. 💗💗💗

Congratulations everyone on your beautiful performances! Everyone should be so proud. It was really wonderful. I am so grateful for all your work and for sharing your voices with our audience today.

Students this is a great opportunity to learn a new skill. This is an excellent way to build confidence to help you with performances and auditions, plus it's super fun.

Welcome to our new faculty Ben Hunter! He received his BA in Theater Performance from SIUE. He is the director and founder of Beautiful things Improv. Mr. Hunter has been involved in every type of theater from big musicals to small, experimental pieces. However, his favorite shows are usually born from improv, as he loves participating in the collaborative and uplifting nature to use everyone's strengths to create something new.

In addition to performing Mr. Hunter has long enjoyed sharing the art of improvisation with the next generation. He has taught improv to students at Edwardsville High School, Metro East Lutheran High School, Ignite Theater and StagePlay Learning.

He hopes Sunday Improv Club can be a low pressure, creative space where students can not just become good improvisors but grow other skills such as uplifting others, embracing new ideas, and become more holistic artists.

Congratulations to some of my star students from the Highland Arts Center and Highland Music School on their school production of Annie!!! They did a wonderful job. Congratulations to all involved, all the months of hard work really paid off.
