Before Metalsmith Liz gets too far into the next project... I wanted to pause for a moment of gratitude. 💜 🤪

Being an artist is a journey with many layers, and this photo seemed like the perfect representation of that. This sculpture features the beautiful painted work of beloved Eau Claire artist Christy Skuban (RIP). Each colorful frame within a frame creates its own story while contributing to something larger, much like the many layers of an artist's journey. Every opportunity, every challenge, every "yes," and every "not this time" becomes another layer in the story.

While everyone waits for the announcement of the 2026 People's Artist Award winner, I wanted to take a moment to simply say, thank you. 💜

I had a lot of fun creating posts for this art fundraiser. Thank you to The People's Artist, The Art of Elysium, Artforum, Johnny Depp, and Colossal Impact for creating an opportunity that brought artists together and encouraged us to share our work with new audiences.

And, if I'm being completely honest... it was also an honor to have a perfectly legitimate reason to post a cool picture of Johnny Depp on my page. 😉 Thank you!

Finally, thank you to every single person who voted, shared my posts, left encouraging comments, and followed along. Your support means more to me than you know, and I'm excited for the next chapter.

On to the next layer. 💜

Today I spent time walking through Carson Park in Eau Claire, WI. I was taking in the summer air and reconnecting with the Wisconsin landscape that has shaped so much of my creative journey.

In just over a month, artists, musicians, and visitors from around the world will gather here for Eaux Claires fest. (Eaux Claires ) Nestled within Half Moon Lake sits Carson Park, the location of our festival.

The lake has been quietly shaping the next chapter of my signature Birch Bark Jewelry, a part of the collection called Waterways.

This body of water doesn’t just inspire the work. It becomes the work.

Introducing the beginning of:
The Oxbow Pendant.
