It is that time of year to do a mid season check of your irrigation system. This is a leak that was discovered under a slate walkway. If left unchecked and undetected this would’ve continued to undermine the walkway and cause damage. Whether it’s just adjustments that are needed, or a repair like we encountered today, a mid season check of your irrigation system helps your grass stay it’s greenest.

Big repair for a new customer today. Multiple cracks in this manifold was causing water to leak and fill up the valve box. We removed and replaced the entire manifold assembly. Most likely caused by a poor job winterizing the system last year. What may have been a cheap winterizing job turned into a costly repair this spring.

Last week we turned on irrigation and dock lines at a local marina. As soon as the main was turned on, a crack was found in the 2” white PVC elbow. This crack was caused by improper placement of the blowout valve on the down side of the backflow preventer, and an overall poor job winterizing. Luckily the backflow preventer was not damaged, as that would have been a very costly repair. A repair was made, and a blowout valve was added to the proper side of the backflow preventer so water can drain properly when winterized this fall by Blue Line Irrigation
