October, your birthstone never shows the same face twice.

Tilt an opal toward the window and you’ll see flashes of fire red, then electric blue, then a green you can’t quite name. Move it again and the whole picture changes.

Every opal has its own pattern of color, and no two are alike.

The Romans called opal the queen of gems, because they saw the colors of every other stone inside it. Once you’ve held one, it’s easy to see why.

The opals in our case right now come from our friends at in Pocatello. Their story started in 1973 with a man mining opal in Spencer, Idaho. Three generations later, the Farnsworth family is still hand-selecting opals and Montana sapphires for jewelers like us. We’re a family business too, so we know what it takes to keep something like that going. Their entire collection and owner Johnathan will be in our showrooms for an upcoming holiday event so stay tuned for the event release date!

She knew from the beginning that she didn’t want her wedding band to simply sit next to her engagement ring. She wanted the two to feel like they were always meant to be together.

That is what made the custom process so special.

We started by having her try on different bands from our in store collection, using each one as inspiration while talking through the details she loved and how she wanted her final ring to flow with her engagement ring.

From there, her vision became a custom CAD design that she could actually see in 3D before the ring was ever made. After a few small adjustments, every detail was finalized and her dream wedding band came to life.

Her husband had a custom experience of his own, exploring different metals, weights, textures and finishes and using Lashbrook’s customization tools to create a band that felt completely personal to him.

Then came the details only they would know. They secretly chose engravings for the inside of each other’s rings, and her husband surprised her by adding a hidden ruby to hers. ❤️

As a small, family owned jeweler with a third generation jewelry legacy and more than 30 years of experience behind the bench, these are the moments we love most. Helping couples create pieces that feel completely their own, from the first idea to the final box.

The Bulova Super Seville punches high above its weight — in technology, in legacy, and in design — and it still lands safely under $1,500, ranging from about $400 to $1,200 depending on the model.

The real story is the movement. It’s Bulova’s proprietary Precisionist quartz, running at 262kHz — eight times the frequency of a standard quartz watch.

That means accuracy measured in seconds per year, and a smooth, sweeping second hand you’d swear came from a mechanical watch. Pick one up and watch it glide.
The design has real lineage. It’s drawn from the 1970s Super Seville Day-Date — that TV-shaped cushion case, fluted coin-edge bezel, and a bracelet built right into the watch. It’s the integrated look usually reserved for watches costing many times more.

And the pedigree runs deep: Bulova has been around since 1875, issued to U.S. military members, flown on 46 NASA missions, and worn on the surface of the Moon.
