What can you do with family diamonds? This client turned them into a bridal set!

She came to us twice. First with grandma's stones for a three-stone yellow gold engagement ring with gorgeous details. Then with more family gems for the wedding band. Tiffany and Patrick designed a diamond eternity band with a custom curve so the two pieces nest together perfectly.

This is one of our favorite things to make, jewelry that carries a history and gets worn every single day.

In our fine, vintage era πŸ’Žβ

We had the honor of designing a stunning brooch for a client's birthday. Inspired by vintage design, we selected old euro cuts and old mine cuts, diamonds with history and soul, set for a person who wears both effortlessly. Created for someone who only gets better with time. And yes! Brooches are back, for gentlemen and women alike, because some things are simply too good to ever really go away. This is what timeless looks like.

Her grandmother's diamond. A new beginning. πŸ’›β

When Emma and Laura came to us, they brought something irreplaceable with them: a round diamond from Laura's grandmother. Together with our designer and gemologist Tracy, they imagined a way to carry that love forward: nestled in 18k yellow gold, flanked by two new baguettes, and made entirely their own.

When they came to pick it up, they couldn't have been more thrilled. We can't wait to see the engagement photos. 🀩

If you have a family gemstone or simply a vision, we'd love to help you bring it to life. Book a consultation on our website. πŸ”—β

Nature drew the blueprint. Phil followed nature's lead. πŸ“

Buried inside this lavender quartz: a network of dark color banding, crossing at almost perfect 90Β° angles. Geometric. Precise. Like something intentional, and yet entirely formed by the earth.

When Phil spotted them at the Tucson Gem Show, he knew immediately they belonged together. So he let the stones lead, rose-cut, set as dangles, so every movement catches the light and reveals those cool angles all over again.

There's nothing quite like them in our collection.

A beautiful tribute with beautiful diamonds. ✨

One of our clients recently came in with her mother's original engagement ring and its ring jacket. May, Molly and Denis all worked with the client to create a gorgeous new ring.

The final creation incorporated all of her family diamonds in a new white gold setting all using the client's gold. A very sweet moment β€” the day she came to pick up her new ring was her parents' 70th wedding anniversary. Now whenever she looks down, she has something to remember them by.

Hot Take: yes, you can propose with a stone. πŸ’Žβ

This is how you can design together and have a surprise, too! This gives you the best of both worlds. Our gemologist Tracy's hot take is that you don't have to propose with a ring. Surprise your partner with their favorite gemstone. Then bring it to us and design your perfect ring.

Have questions and want to see the large variety of gems you can choose from? We're here for it. Visit our website to make an appointment. πŸ”—β

Who runs the world? Pearls! 🫧

Our goldsmith Molly's newest pendant design features a stunning pink-purple sapphire and lavender freshwater pearl set in sterling silver and and 18k yellow gold.

Molly saw this pearl and sapphire together and thought, this is a Linda combination! She knew she had to create a pendant that honored our founder, Linda McGill's amazing color sense and design skills. It's handcrafted in graceful arcs of silver and gold, perfect for everyday wear or for special occasions.

Jewelsmith in the Community: the Mother’s Day Ball with Emily K Center. πŸͺ©β

2026 is an extra special year for both Jewelsmith and The Emily K Center, who is celebrating their 20th anniversary! Every year, the Emily Krzyzewski Center hosts their Mother’s Day Ball to honor the role of family and community in the development of today’s youth. This year’s record breaking proceeds go to support all the amazing work the center does. We’re proud and honored to be a part of an organization that strengthens our community.

The Emily Krzyzewski Center was created in honor of Coach K’s mother, who valued hard work and education. It’s a Durham, NC-based nonprofit that runs four programs aimed at unlocking the academic, professional, and leadership potential of students who are often overlooked in higher education. Together, these programs support young people from grade school through college, giving them the tools they need to earn their degrees, pursue meaningful careers, and make a lasting impact in their communities.

We donated a beautiful pendant for their silent auction. And we sponsored the dance floor so of course we had to boogie on down. πŸ’ƒπŸ½πŸ•ΊπŸΌβ
