I am honored to share not just one, but three deeply meaningful rings created for Vietnam veteran Brad Bennett and his wife, Kathy. These are far more than jewelry—they are living tributes to a story of service, sacrifice, and remembrance.
The Con Thien Signet Ring –
Crafted from 14k white gold, this ring features a fully intact M16 cartridge cap recovered by Brad himself when he returned to the battlefield decades after the war. The number 44 is engraved on one side, with its Vietnamese translation on the other, honoring the 44 Marines who gave their lives on May 8, 1967. Brad’s own signature is engraved inside, while the date of that fateful night appears on the band. The cartridge cap remains untouched, preserving the patina it carried from the battlefield.
The Restored Marine Corps Ring –
Brad’s original 40-year-old Marine Corps signet ring was carefully restored to its former glory. The 3D yellow gold Marine emblem was re-engraved by hand, bringing back its depth and detail, while the white gold was polished to a high luster. This ring also carries the same engraved memorial details as the Con Thien ring.
Kathy’s Tribute Band –
A 14k white gold band inlaid with a channel of brass shavings from the same M16 round, mixed with 24k gold, sealed and preserved. Inside, her husband’s signature, the number 44, and the date 05/08/1967 are engraved, signifying her place in this shared memory and legacy.
These rings are destined to be handed down to Brad’s sons, ensuring that the story of courage, sacrifice, and brotherhood will live on for generations.
Brad, thank you for your service. Kathy, thank you for your strength. And to the 44 Marines who never came home—this is for you.
