40 years ago today I moved to Austin.
I drove into downtown in my new 1984 Toyota Celica (which was hit 6 times in a year!).l to share an apartment with my college bestie from USC.

I never imagined that I'd still be here.
A good bit of my time was spent thinking about getting back "home" to California. Of course, Texans don't exactly like hearing about the "land of fruit and nuts"...not my words, folks....hahaha.
And.... I'm feeling all kinds of emotions about all of this, my home is here.

I got married (and...unmarried), have 3 amazing children, and 2 beautiful grandchildren.

I have run a business for 33 and a half years, which has weathered many storms. I get to live my dream, and sometimes a nightmare...hee hee...
But, I'm pretty sure I wouldn't have taken that risk if I'd stated in California.
So, Texas, thanks, y'all for these things.

However, I will ALWAYS be a California girl!
