The oldest known cello in the world is "The King", made by Italian instrument maker Andrea Amati around mid-16th Century AD, in Cremona, Italy.

It is so-called because it was part of set of 38 stringed instruments made for court of King Charles IV of France.

Oh how I love thee. Circa 1920-1980’s have still have some real knock out rings set with the purple color quartz! Februarys birthstone and the stone of sobriety in mythology, amethyst is always a great addiction to the jewelry box!

2 very sweet, silver and gold-washed , both dating from 1827, and hallmarked England! How weird is that?! These came from Dave’s personal collection. They’d have originally been used to fill with fabric or cotton that was soaked in parfume it cologne, so that the owner would smell better and smell better things out in the world! I love them so!

I don’t know about y’all, but the Japanese beadles haven’t been as bad for my garden as they usually are; only a few on my roses from time to time, but the grass hoppers have been all over my flowers! Like this guy! A 14 karat gold grasshopper from right around 1960.
