We are honored & humbled by this recognition from the Decatur EDC. We are extremely blessed to be a part of this wonderful community!

At last night’s Decatur City Council meeting, Mayor Eddie Allen and Council recognized Chalet of Jewelry as the August Business of the Month! The locally owned shop celebrated its 45th year in business on August 17 – perfect timing for this recognition.

Chalet of Jewelry is more than a jewelry store – it’s a place where life’s most meaningful moments are celebrated. Their commitment to honesty, education, craftsmanship, and exceptional customer service is at the heart of their business. ❤️💍📿

1981 – Founded by Rex and Lou Gage
1982 – Their daughter, Cyndi Fernihough, joined the business and continued the family legacy for over 30 years
2017 – Upon Cyndi’s retirement, Trey & Breanne Fernihough purchased the business to continue the legacy and embrace new ideas and traditions
2020s – Madelyn Fernihough is pursuing her gemology degree through the Gemological Institute of America

The Fernihoughs shared that the Decatur community has been incredibly faithful to Chalet of Jewelry, and the relationships they have built with friends and customers are what matter most. They consider their support of Decatur-area non-profits, churches, schools, and civic organizations both “a privilege and a responsibility”.

Our customer brought us a turquoise ring that meant so much to her, and we had the privilege of giving it a whole new life!

Using her turquoise, white gold, and diamonds, we designed and created this statement custom ring around her original stone. The transformation is incredible, but the best part is that the pieces she already loved are still right there at the heart of it.

A little sentimental, a little spectacular… and completely one of a kind!

This custom ring is one of a kind!

Our customer chose this breathtaking 5.05ct Dutch marquise diamond, and together we designed a ring that is as practical as it is beautiful. The wide two-tone mounting was custom made with an open center, allowing her to interchange different bands inside whenever she wants a new look. We finished it with a sleek half bezel setting that perfectly showcases this incredible diamond.

Custom jewelry is all about creating something that's uniquely yours, and this piece does exactly that! 🤍

This isn't just an ancient coin—it's a piece of biblical history.

Known as the Widow's Mite, this small bronze coin dates back nearly 2,000 years and is the same type of coin mentioned in Mark 12:41-44 and Luke 21:1-4.

As Jesus watched people give their offerings at the Temple, a poor widow quietly placed in two small mites. While others gave out of their abundance, she gave all she had. Jesus told His disciples that her humble gift was greater because it came from a heart of complete faith and trust in God.
