I was having a perfectly good day at Maine’s Ultimate Yard Sale on June 13th until… I was SO close. Just 5 more minutes and I would have been completely packed up and pulling out of the parking lot. And then it happened. I was zipping up my tent into its bag and I got my foot tangled up in the straps and down I went. I was on the ground before I had a chance to mentally register what happened. Fell backwards and landed on both wrists, breaking my left wrist.
One of those freak accidents that I just didn’t see coming. So, 6 weeks in a cast and not much getting done in the Bittersweet North Creations studio. An unplanned, unexpected hiatus. Honestly people… I had plans… a busy summer of vendor events lined up for almost every Saturday this summer. But that all changed in the blink of an eye. I thought I had everything under control, that I could do it all on my own…but nope. God set me down and said, “You’re getting a little ahead of yourself. A little big for your britches. How about I hit you with a little dose of reality”?
Listen friends. I need you to hear this. My husband is my hero! My rock. My love and my biggest supporter and fan. He has been a trouper throughout all of this. He’s been helping me through every step of this recovery. Dragging my trailer load of stuff every Saturday to places he never signed up for. Setting up tent, tables, tent weights, setting out jewelry for me. He is an truck driver and an owner/operator. He works like a dog, getting up at 2am to deliver loads, and then comes home to help me pack up and get to the next craft show in my schedule. He has made all of this possible, and there is just no way I could do it without him. So, honey, I thank you! From the bottom of my heart, thank you for everything you’ve done and continue to do for me. I love you!
And for all of my friends, family, and followers, thank you for your continued love and support during this crazy time. I’m still here, planning, preparing for the day I can get back into the studio and start working again. I have so many ideas! More to come about that in the future!
