Hi All, I am trying to NOT use FB messaging or Meta Business Suite or any other FB methods of communicating. FB keeps adding unwanted features that have incorrect or misleading messaging and take WAY too much of my time to figure out how to undo. I will keep posting any updates here - as long as I can - so, please continue with your comments as we have done in the past. That part is NOT changing. Yet, as for any future one on one communications, please use the other channels that I have already set up the way I want them. I am clearing out old records. I came across my repair and custom job envelopes. The highest number I saw on the top of the box was 1500! I was surprised I had done that many repairs and custom jobs. When I opened both boxes I realized I had gone through 3 sets of job envelopes, not just one!
Just one of the sets contained the 1500 jobs, there was another 1691 job envelopes and only 59 of them were never picked up or paid for! That is less than 2%! Many of those envelopes contained more than one repair as well so I know there were more actual repairs and custom creations than envelopes. Two people I know had severe medical issues come up which is why they were never able to come back – still hurts my heart, which is why I can still remember their jobs to this day. The rest just never came in for whatever reason. I never got paid for my time or materials.
After several years, I finally got to the point where I decided I would only contact folks 3 times to come get their repair work. They were all well aware they brought in their repairs. Pricing was confirmed prior to the work being done so; they knew what they were getting into. If after the 3 attempts and 30 days (which is pretty generous for such a tiny business), their repair was still unpaid for, I attached steep late fees or their pieces became mine to scrap – even if I didn’t want them.
I only took repair deposits less than ½ dozen times (custom was different, of course) because I really needed to believe in and trust humanity. I loved being able to take a person’s word and they would be good for it and visa versa. In total, 3191 jobs while running a retail shop and all that comes with that and less than 2% failure rate is pretty remarkable I think. I only missed one deadline too – I can’t forget that either.
A huge thanks to all of you who entrusted me with your pieces for repair. Some of the pieces were really sentimental and/or from generations past.
Another huge thank you to those of you who chose me (I realize there were few choices who do custom but still…) to make your creations come to life.

To anyone looking for Sterling silver jewelry, I will be vending at this event! Even if you don't want Sterling jewelry, there will be great things to buy from the other local vendors! Even if you aren't looking to buy great gifts or things for yourself then come down for the music or the snacks or the raffle. Even if you don't come for the vendors, music, snacks or raffle then still, please come down to support Purrfect Additions. Give a huge donation to folks who literally work day and night 24/7 trapping (in all weather and environments) rescuing, vetting, medicating, feeding, cleaning up after and loving the cats and kittens others toss away. It is a HUGE undertaking to do all they do. Please help those who help the helpless or better yet, foster or best yet, ADOPT!

To all of you who have come in and supported my shop for over 30 years, I want to send you all one big fat, huge, massive THANK YOU!!!
Retail has changed so much. Having a “Brick and Mortar” shop, when folks mostly want to shop online, is too much along with all the buying, repairing and custom. I have been making plans of going ‘Online Only’ and a festival here or there. Sitting at a computer is NOT my idea of a fulfilling career but, life changes…..
So, THANK YOU very very very much to those who SUPPORTED my physical store. Keep watching my website for items being added for sale and maybe I'll grow another brick and Mortar presence somewhere on down the road.
