Shawn, the owner of Gemcitygems, began his journey over a decade ago when he discovered a small up and coming website called “EBay”. While he did not realize it at the time, his life had just changed forever when he realized that the various estate pieces that he had collected over the years could be sold online, and instead of sitting around in boxes, could be used to
bring happiness to others. With this new mission to explore his creativity and bring more beauty into the world, Shawn began to travel around the United States to multimillion dollar estate sales in search of other vintage pieces in need of a new life. Focusing at first on restoring vintage jewelry to its original glory, Shawn has since expended his interests focusing less on the vintage pieces themselves, but to the gemstones that can be set in each one. Gemcitygems specialized in providing high quality Columbian Emeralds, Tanzanites, Pariba Tourmalines, Sapphires, and other GIA certified and rare gemstones, set in high end jewelry that is sure to make anyone stand out in a crowd. As the stones have grown in popularity and have begun to generate more hype, gemcitygems has grown from a hobby (some would say an obsession), to a part time job, to a full-fledged business. Each piece of jewelry that passes through gemcitygems is unique, and undergoes a thorough process of examination, setting, restoring, and cleaning by a master GIA certified jeweler. It is then packaged in an exquisite brand new natural redwood and leather ring box, shipped by USPS with tracking and insurance, and sent directly to the customer for enjoyment.
