Why Necker’s? It all goes back to a time when business was simply about doing what you love. After World War II, a bright-eyed and passionate veteran named Don Necker set out to pursue his dream. Watches were his t
rade, but his true passion was creating the kind of customer experience people would never forget. In 1952, Don and his wife Dorothy purchased a jewelry store that had been serving the DeWitt community since 1893. They renamed it Necker’s Jewelers, and from the very beginning their focus was clear: customers, community, quality, and family. As the years passed, two of their sons—Dave and DJ Necker—joined the business and helped grow the dream even further, expanding to additional locations. Eventually those stores evolved into the two destination jewelry stores you see today in DeWitt and Davenport. More than seven decades later, Necker’s Jewelers still holds true to the same values Don and Dorothy believed in: putting customers first, supporting our community, and treating every guest like family. Today, we proudly offer many of the world’s most sought-after jewelry and watch brands, including Hearts On Fire, Simon G., Breitling, Tissot, Bulova, John Hardy, Ania Haie, and more. Thanks to the incredible support of our customers, Necker’s has also been voted the #1 Jeweler in the area for over 13 years & is in the top 1% of independent jewelers nationwide. Giving back remains a cornerstone of who we are. Through our Gift of Giving Program, we partner with local non-profits to raise both awareness and funds for organizations doing incredible work throughout the Quad Cities.
