By Design Gems is a newly formed family business based in Colorado Springs, Colorado, which provides services such as gem cutting in their onsite lapidary workshop and custom jewelry design in their studio that houses a 3D printer. Their retail showroom, workshop, and studio are located in the center of the charming Old Historic District of Colorado Springs, Old Colorado City.

Lighthouse cut amethyst with three different colored topaz accents in yellow/white/rose gold. This design was verbally described to us by our customer and we created this design based on our interpretation. A yellow gold mermaid tail spashing a white gold wave onto a rose gold beach.

One of my favorite responses from my clients sums up this design pretty well. "I'm not sure what I was expecting but I am blown away, I don't think we need to make any changes."

Makes my day. =)

Custom cut Colorado Topaz mined by the customer himself, that is already placed in a ring with smokie quartz and diamond in rose gold. We'll post the pictures once he picks it up. Can't risk ruining the surprise!
