LONG POST ALERT. ❤️
In four days, I’ll turn 40.
Lately, I’ve been doing a lot of reflecting. About life. The places it’s taken me. The things it’s given me. The things it didn’t. The things it’s taken away.
If you had told little Sol from Puerto Rico, the one who didn’t come from money, who had big dreams but no idea how she’d ever reach them, that one day she’d build a business from scratch, marry the kindest man she knows, move more than once, find lifelong friendships in places she never expected, and wake up genuinely excited about what’s next… she probably would’ve looked at you like you were straight up crazy. 🤭
I’ll be real with you. Life hasn’t unfolded the way I imagined it would.
Many of you know YJ and I dreamed of becoming parents. We walked through an IVF journey that ended in heartbreak. There have been seasons that brought more questions than answers. Seasons that tested my faith, my resilience, and the picture I had painted for my future.
And STILL… if you asked me today whether I’d rewrite my story, my answer would be hell to the no. 😅
Not because every chapter has been easy, but because every chapter made me who I am.
Somewhere along the way, I realized happiness isn’t found when every dream comes true. It’s found when you stop measuring your life only by what’s missing.
Do I still have dreams I’m praying for? Mhm.
But when I look around, my “lack” gets sort of quieter.
I see a husband who loves sooo much. Friendships that feel like family. A business that started as an idea. A community of women I get to serve every day. A life younger me could never have imagined.
The blessings are just louder. 👏🏽
Maybe that’s what growing up really is. Not getting everything you wanted, but finally noticing everything you already have.
If I could hug little me today, I’d tell her:
“You don’t have to repeat the patterns you learned.
You’re allowed to evolve.
Everything changes.”
I think little Sol would be proud of who we became.
And honestly… so am I. ♥️ xx, Sol
