Chiyogami paper is one of my favorite materials to work with. I love choosing from the different colors and traditional Japanese patterns and finding ways to turn the paper into jewelry, accessories, and gifts.

This is where many of my Kiyomizu Designs pieces begin — surrounded by paper, tools, and usually a little bit of a mess. 😊

A fresh look — and a new Instagram name — for Kiyomizu Designs. 🌊🇯🇵

You may have noticed that this Instagram account has a new name. I’ve updated it to Kiyomizu Designs to match my Etsy shop and the new look of my brand.

I’m Akiyo, originally from Kyoto, Japan, and now living in Michigan. I create handmade jewelry, accessories, and gifts using Japanese materials, patterns, and traditions.

Kiyomizu Designs has been part of my life for many years, and while the name and look here have been refreshed, I’m still creating the handmade Japanese pieces I love.

Thank you to everyone who has followed and supported my work. I’m looking forward to sharing more of what I make, the beautiful materials I use, and the stories behind my creations.
