The jewelry scam is still going on in Michigan!
A few years ago we made a post about this scam and we’re sad to say it’s still going on just as strong. Since our initial post we've had several people bring in these same style rings and chains, they are stamped 18K, but are not real gold. The scammers all have similar stories, it’s usually a family at a gas station trying to get to a far away location, and they've lost their wallet or debit/credit cards, and they need money to make it there, typically one or more of them is putting on an act of crying or a sob story to pull at the heart strings.
We’ve heard of 3 instances of this just in Clio in the last week, but we’ve heard of it happening elsewhere as well. Stay wary and DO NOT give these people any money, make sure you’re safe before calling 911. These people are taking advantage of the kind hearted people of Clio and Michigan, and we need to try to our best to put an end to as much of this as we can!
