A lot of people have been receiving their watches and tagging us / sharing their wrist shots so as a result, we have been getting a lot of attention. So I thought I’d take my time to introduce myself and the mission here at Sidewinder watches.
My name is Erik “Sean” Borlin. I’m the founder, owner, CEO whatever you want to call it. I’ve worn a watch ever since I was about 13 but it wasn’t until I met my wife at the age of 25 that my interest became an obsession when my wife bought me my first $500+ watch as an engagement present. The Bulova Sutton skeleton in yellow gold with a brown leather strap. I was obsessed.
I probably collected upwards of 100-200 watches over the next four-five years of my marriage. Until it reached a point where we had four mouths to feed and I got tired of hearing my lovely wife ask me if that was a new watch in my wrist every week.
So from there I turned to flipping. Which I did for a year. Got to know a lot of excellent people along the way. And I got to know a lot of not so awesome people along the way. Until I wasn’t getting satisfaction of being able to flip a watch for $200 profit before it even ships to me. Felt like bottom feeding to me (no offense to anyone I know or that does it)
I wanted to build something of my OWN. And thus, sidewinder was born.
Our mission is to design striking yet refined watches that balance style, reliability, and fair pricing for everyday wear.
Sidewinder Watches makes bold, classy watches that look sharp, wear reliably, and stay reasonably priced.
I’m building watches that are loud enough to get noticed but still classy — solid builds, good pricing, and something different from the usual. and I do it all with an obsessive passion because of my love for the craft, design, and something wild.
If you’ve supported me this far. Thank you. And if you haven’t yet. I can’t wait to get a piece of Sidewinder Steel on your wrist. 😎
